EiE-ECCD Programme Manager- CAR

Plan’s vision is to reach as many children as possible, particularly those who are excluded or marginalised, with high quality programmes that deliver long lasting benefits. In 2012, Plan provided life saving humanitarian assistance, protection, education and emotional support in 36 disasters across the world.
Plan has started some Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) services in nutrition centres and is providing support to preschool facilities in Bangui. We are looking for exceptional, highly experienced Education in Emergency Specialist with a strong background on ECCD to support the implementation of this work in Bangui and in the provinces. As the EiE- ECCD programme manager, you will work with affected communities, children, local government authorities and other Plan sectors like education, child protection and health to ensure they complement each other and enhance coordination of ECCD activities with sectoral specific activities.
Essential
  • Proven humanitarian Education experience (part of which must be field).
  • Proven work experience on ECCD activities in emergency
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development and the connections between the various sectors for young children’s holistic development.
  • Proven experience in conducting training for parents and ECCD facilitators
  • Experience on monitoring ECCD activities
  • Ability to design and develop appropriate surveillance, monitoring and evaluation systems for education interventions.
  • Experience with participatory approaches to education, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area
  • Knowledge of Sphere, the Red Cross/ NGO Code of Conduct, INEE desirable
  • HEAT security training or equivalent
  • Fluency in French and English
