Job purpose and key deliverablesGlobal Business Partnering 

  • Assist Finance Manager - ITS in providing strong financial support that enables IT Services managers in making strategic business and commercial decisions (e.g. investment appraisal)
Performance Management

  • Coordinate and manage IT Services budgeting and planning process
  • Ensure timely provision of relevant management information to IT Services LT
Internal Controls 

  • To ensure transactions are properly accounted for in accordance with IFRS (e.g. capitalisation of intangibles)
  • Assist Finance Manager - ITS in providing an overall sense check on IT Services internal controls  
Operations/ Professional/ Business 

  • To coordinate annual budgeting and QPR process for the IT Services functions and assist in reviewing submissions
  • Lead in discussion with budget holders to scrutinise Co Plan/ QPR and challenge large variances. Co Plan/ QPR are compared against previous year’s forecast/ actual to identify large variances and ensure all cost increase has valid business justification
  • Conduct monthly financial review and analysis with IT Service functions
  • Provide value added commentaries to drive resolutions within ITS functions
  • Manage ITS financials via month end and year end close. Based on YTD financial position, ensure accruals are made to achieve the right position for ITS
  • Review accruals to ensure they are substantiated with proper supporting documents to ensure no non-compliance issues arising from audit
  • Provide monthly tracking of key cost drivers to facilitate the budget holders focusing on major variances to drive efforts in meeting forecast and financial accuracy.
  • Coordinate and manage End-Market recharging and governance mechanism
  • Engage with RSM to obtain RITM’s approval for unbudgeted incremental cost and assist in end market’s queries
  • Oversee invoice process for end markets whom require special legislative requirements to ensure invoices issued met the local requirements.
  • Ensure provision of accurate and timely management information to help IT Services LT monitor on-going performance
  • Familiarity with the details of   IT Services financials Review CERAF and commercial proposal and provide finance and commercial input  
  • Coordinate and the custodian of inter company recharging  
  • Provide information to Corporate Finance for HFM reporting and respond to queries from end markets  
  • Meet all internal reporting deadlines i.e. QPR, Co Plan, cash flow forecast, Finance Management dashboard, whenever is applicable  
  • Ensure transactions are properly accounted for as per IFRS requirements  
Management 

  • Managing priorities, goals and timelines for self and direct report
  • Drive financial analysis of TCO and Cost Savings within IT Services
  • Monitor and support IT Services functions to operate within budget constraints
Leadership

  • Build strong Financial and Commercial awareness within the IT Services community, specifically with direct reports to IT Services LT Sets high standards for self and others Volunteer and lead initiatives to improve Finance team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal development Demonstrates a “can do” mentality Develop capabilities in direct report via regular coaching
Relationship

  • Together with Finance Manager-ITS, build good working relationship by constantly participating in decision making processes of IT Services, providing financial and commercial input Assist Finance Manager-ITS in providing an overall sense check on the adequacy of internal controls of IT Services

  • Continuously challenge the status quo Continuously develop ways to improve efficiency in way of working and contribute to process improvements by developing operational excellence within GSDKL systems and processes
Essential requirements

  • Professionally qualified (i.e. qualified accountant)
  • Fluent in English
  • Work under minimal supervision and a team player
Desirable requirements

  • Have been expose to work on business cases engaging with the business as Finance Business Partner : Ability to think commercially, understand and argue business cases
  • Prepared to take calculated risks and is a catalyst of change : Engage with stakeholders but not just accept and say yes. Determine to challenge status quo and provide new / value add ideas / suggestions
  • Confident person and able to manage and engage with Senior Management (e.g. FD, Head of Functions)
  • Must be able to grow to a Senior Finance Role
