ICLA Project Manager

Job description

GENERIC:
  • Develop strategies for the ICLA projects on national level
  • Monitor the ICLA projects and ensure high technical quality and synergies
  • Prepare/verify proposals related to this sector
  • Evaluation, review and quality control of ICLA programs
  • Identify trends in conditions/standards and donor priorities and assess better ways to assist
  • Identification, training and development of staff
  • Ensure adherence to ICLA tools and handbooks and other NRC policies, as well as donor regulations
  • Develop partnerships in the humanitarian community and coordinate with authorities at local, provincial and ministry level
  • Budget and administrative responsibility for ICLA program
  • Further develop and revise NRC Jordan’s ICLA macro strategy and log frame
  • Contribute to the development of NRC’s Country strategy, action plan and activities plan and priorities in the ICLA sector
SPECIFIC:
  • Further develop program strategy and direction in line with ICLA global policy with a strong emphasis on civil documentation and hlp.
  • Ensure close coordination and collaboration between ICLA and shelter programme.
  • Ensure ICLA program activities are coordinated with external stakeholders. Explore and build external relations and partnerships with key strategic partners including the UN, INGOs and local civil society.
  • Develop a clear funding strategy to secure access to resources necessary for an effective and continuing program.
  • Represent the ICLA program to internal and external stakeholders in all relevant fora.
  • Coordinate closely with PAA and CD on protection and advocacy issues related to HLP and civil documentation
  • Through close monitoring of the context, develop approaches and activities ensuring promotion of the Do No Harm principle

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years experience from working as a senior Project Manager/Program Manager in a humanitarian/ recovery context
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Core competency (ICLA) expertise, including on HLP rights, Collaborative Dispute Resolution and Civil Documentation
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license
  • DESIRED:
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an asset
  • Knowledge of the context and previous experience working in the region is highly valued

We offer

  • Commencement: 15. July 2014
  • Contract period: 24 months
  • Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions
Duty station: Jordan.
