IT Specialist (Application and Data Architecture)

Plan, organize, and direct the implementation of the essential information architecture portion of the enterprise architecture. Develop and implement methodologies and techniques that improve efficient use of information and enhance productivity relating to technical studies and the systems development process. Participate in the development and implementation of business processes and related workflow that improve efficient use of information and enhance productivity. Provide technical leadership in the applications and data architecture strategies, processes and methodologies and look after the Architecture Modeling for ADB based upon TOGAF standards and framework with a specific focus on applications and the data architecture of ADB.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
  • The position reports to: Director, Technology Division and Principal IT Specialist (Enterprise Architecture)
  • The following staff positions report to the IT Specialist (Applications and Data Architecture): National Staff and Administrative Staff.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • A university degree in computer science or related field; preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
  • At least 8 years experience in applications or systems programming, with 2 years in a management that focused on data management technologies.
  • Experience in one or more technologies, such as database systems, ERP systems, data warehouse, business intelligence, and collaboration technologies.
  • Preferably with knowledge at the expert level of current techniques and hardware capabilities of a large scale database and data communications environment.
  • Ability to plan and manage both long-term and short-term IT projects.
  • Possess a sound appreciation of the overall strategic direction of a multilateral institution and its business strategies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
  • International experience working in several countries.
