Summary of Position
The IT Team at SFCG is seeking full-time interns for our headquarters in Washington, DC. The Technology Intern will assist in the design and implementation of many unique and challenging projects. Through hands-on training, the Technology Intern will learn about project design, planning and implementation, different enterprise technologies, and about high standards of customer service that can be broadly applied to any industry. The scope of each internship will be tailored to the intern’s strengths and experience, building on the individual’s skills.
We are looking for interns that want to make a positive impact in the world. The selected interns will work on important projects that help our organization move forward in our mission of conflict transformation through the application and use of technology.
We have received significant donations from Microsoft, Google, and other technology providers that allows us to deploy some of the most advanced technologies throughout our 55 offices around the world. At the moment, we are exploring new initiatives on global management systems, global financial systems, storage solutions and to continue to provide the best-of-breed technical support to our more than 600 users around the world.
At this time, we will only be inviting two new interns to join us. However, we accept applications on a rolling basis. Interns must be able to commit at least 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
  • Enhance and develop our Help Desk operations both in headquarters and worldwide throughout our field offices
  • Document all requests submitted to our Help Desk ticketing system
  • Follow through on assigned projects from start to finish
  • Offer excellent customer service to all members of the organization
  • Assist other members of the IT team with related tasks and projects

Minimum Qualifications
  • Possess or currently pursuing a degree in any field related to information technology
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Solid Internet research skills
  • Independent worker not needing close supervision
  • Self-starter; organized; detail-oriented
  • Experience and interest in providing front line support to staff
  • Interest in international relations
  • French speaking & writing skills are a plus (not required)
Salary
This position is unpaid.
