The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization and delivery of teaching materials and assessment plans; conducting lectures and tutorials; coordination and management of units, providing continuous feedback to students; academic counselling of students; and participating in staff development activities.

Candidates for senior lecturer/ lecturer should have a strong commitment to high quality research in finance with a record of publications in high quality refereed international journals. They should also demonstrate an ability to provide postgraduate supervision. While we welcome applications from candidates in any area related to finance, candidates should offer specialist teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels.

Minimum Requirements:
• Postgraduate qualifications, preferably a PhD in Finance, either completed or near to completion
• Considerable experience in teaching at under- and/or post-graduate levels
• Advanced knowledge in banking, economics and international finance where industry experience in related field is an added advantage
• Capable to develop and/or lead research teams
• Evidence of personal research achievement with refereed publications. Ability to demonstrate strong commitment and significant contribution to the academic life of the School and the University Excellent communication and computing skills
Key Responsibility Areas:
Teaching and Learning
• Undertake teaching supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Develop and maintain course materials and educational resources in the areas of teaching responsibility
• Co-ordinate tutors and provides tutorial assistance as necessary
• Supervision of Higher Degree by Research Students
Research
• Undertake and publish research in areas of expertise
• Publish scholarly papers in peer-reviewed international journals
• Disseminate research findings through seminars, workshops and conferences
• Win competitive grants and/or attract industry funding for research projects
• Collaborate and form associations with other groups in industry and the public sector on research projects
Community Service
• Foster the Department’s relations with industry, professional bodies and the wider community. Undertake consulting and contract research in areas of expertise as appropriate
• Administration
• Participate in Departmental, Faculty and Curtin Committees as required
Other
• Undertake such other activities as might reasonably be expected in accordance with the specific duties outlined above
