Project Leader Special Projects - Edutainment

Oxfam Novib is looking for a
Project Leader Special Projects - Edutainment
36 hours per week for the duration of 1 year (start asap)
Based in The Hague

The Project Leader Edutainment will have the following responsibilities:
Main tasks

  • Converts the project proposal into activity plans, detailed budgets and necessary contracts and agreements between involved stakeholders.
  • Puts the plans to the responsible manager and any steering group for their approval.
  • Co-ordinates the desired input of involved parties, such as regional bureaus, partner organisations, donors and other stakeholders, prepares and chairs meetings and coaches when necessary part of the project implementation.
  • Sets up a monitoring and evaluation system, monitors the quality of the project’s implementation, the relation with the partners and the relations with donors, in line with the agreements with consortium partners and implementing partners.
  • Builds and maintains contacts with donors, provides for fundraising in co-operation with EFU, including the writing of proposals, co-ordinates the writing of financial reports and audits and writes these reports when necessary.
  • Provides for realising the results and targets agreed in the plan, monitors the implementation of activities and arranges their adjustment. Has budget responsibility and reports on it.
  • Monitors the integrality with other activities and goals, and monitors the project’s progress and quality level, signals problems, opportunities and exceptions, and provides for solutions.
  • Is responsible for the communication and information around the project, in co-ordination with the steering group and the involved ON bureaus, as well as involved partners.

You have

  • a university level education and at least 5 years of work experience in the field of development cooperation preferably with an international agency;
  • good knowledge of and experience in managing projects for NGOs;
    experience in managing projects for the European Commission as well as experience with EC rules and regulations is a prerequisite for this function;
  • broad and extensive knowledge of project and programme management (humanitarian and/or development) preferably gained through experience in the field or through regular missions, as well as experience and knowledge of PCM, including monitoring, technical and financial reporting, while having a thematic specialization is an asset;
  • good knowledge of the NGO sector; a network with donor agencies is an asset, while also knowledge of the Oxfam confederation will be considered an asset.
  • good communication and coaching skills;
    willingness to travel abroad;
  • fluent English skills, knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese or French is an advantage.

We offer
The gross salary will be between € 2.877 and € 4.428 gross per month on the basis of a 36 hour work week.
