Research Assistant, 4th edition of the Policy Puzzle
 
The person appointed will be based in the IDF Europe Regional Office in Brussels, Belgium and will report directly to the Research officer of the Policy Puzzle. The Regional Director of IDF Europe will have day to day responsibility in overseeing the appointee
 
Overall Purpose of Job
 
The Research Assistant will work closely with the Research officer of the 4th Edition of the publication entitled The Policy Puzzle.
The Research Assistant will namely provide support in the areas of desk research, overall management of the publication,liaison with third parties (ranging from external editor, associations to internal advocacy and communication teams) to ensure that the publication is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
 
Specific Responsibilities include
  • Assisting the Research Officer with desk research into relevant research and policy issues
  • Ensuring project deliverables are met on time
  • Preparing weekly updates for steering committee chairs
  • Establishing contacts with IDF Europe and FEND member associations, sending questionnaire and ensuring timely and efficient follow-up
  • Working with Communications and Advocacy Teams to disseminate project findings
  • Liaising with the editor of the publication
  • Ensuring that layout conforms with IDF house style and with previous editions of the Policy Puzzle
 
Profile
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
 
  • Previous experience in carrying out research for a publication
  • Academic and professional background in public health–specific knowledge of diabetes, or health statistics would be an advantage
  • Excellent oral and written English, another language an asset
  • Ability to work autonomously within a small team, and within tight deadlines. Highly organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills , and must be confident, analytical, flexible and motivated
