Account Manager, Public Affairs (FS)

OUR TEAM
Our London Public Affairs (PA) team sits within our combined PA, Corporate and Financial Services Practice. We bring together with expertise from party politics, political campaigns, the corridors of Westminster and Whitehall – together industry experts and people who know how to use all channels to communicate with our target audiences.
We provide senior counsel, expert knowledge, insight and analysis on Westminster and Whitehall. We also recognise that politics is global and regularly partner with our colleagues across the network, from Washington DC to Brussels to Beijing.
In 2012, we won the Holmes Report ‘EMEA Public Affairs Agency of the Year’ and ‘EU Consultancy of the Year’ at the The European Public Affairs Awards.
THE ROLE
We currently have an opportunity for an Account Manager to join this exciting and award winning practice. The role will involve working on a varied portfolio of clients, across multiple industries, with a significant focus on financial and professional services. Our clients require proactive engagement, strategic guidance and will provide extensive opportunities to work on major and complex political issues.
Given the international nature of our clients you will regularly work with colleagues in London and other offices in the FH network across EMEA and globally.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Providing strategic and tactical political advice to a portfolio of high profile clients, particularly in the financial and professional services sectors;
  • Developing recommendations, ideas, and strategic responses to client situations with internal account teams;
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of client key stakeholder programmes;
  • Participating in relevant events and forums, being an ambassador for the company and actively seeking opportunities to network;
  • Inspiring, mentoring and motivating junior team members;
  • Initiating ideas for marketing activities and playing an active role in new business.
Who we’re looking for:
  • Public affairs professionals with agency/in-house/political experience and a proven track record in client relationship management;
  • An in-depth understanding of the workings of the political and policy environment, particularly in financial services;
  • Ability to analyse legislation and its impact on stakeholders;
  • Strong media contacts across national media, particularly in tier 1 business would be an advantage;
  • Experience negotiating client challenges and resolving to client and agency’s satisfaction;
  • First-class presentation and inter-personal skills;
  • Skilled at mentoring and developing junior members of the team;
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is a must.
