Account Director (Financial Services)

Electus are working with an international public affairs and communications consultancy based in Brussels, to procure an Account Director to join their Financial Services practice. The need for an additional Account Director in the team is fuelled by an increase in new business activity and the growth of existing accounts. This opportunity suits an established public affairs practitioner with experience in financial services public affairs and PR in Brussels.

Role responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily activities of the account team and point of contact for clients and the management team;
• The management of up to three key FS accounts;
• Supporting new business in following leads and leading on pitches;
• The management of Account Executives and Account Managers;
• Oversee all client contact, offering strategic communications and policy counsel, and serving as client lead on billing;
• Delivering agreed client programmes / actions with the responsibility for providing timely and clear reporting on the progress of programmes;
• Developing stakeholder engagement and advocacy programmes for clients and devising strategies that identify factors likely to impact implementation of said programmes;
• Actively contribute content for digital channels and demonstrate a good understanding of the overall shape and role of social media.

Successful applicants will have:

• A rounded, professional knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulatory challenges;
• EU-focussed campaign and stakeholder management experience;
• Excellent communications skills;
• Experience of working with senior media representatives and advocacy groups is highly desirable;
• Understanding of digital communications channels to support programme delivery is an advantage.
