To maintain our continued growth, we are looking for a dynamic self-starter to help coordinate our business development efforts. Working as a member of the operations area, you will be responsible for coordinating the entire proposal process from initial identification of potential opportunities to the final delivery of a high quality product to tight deadlines. In Milieu’s highly collaborative environment, you will need to provide strong leadership across multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, whilst maintaining healthy long-term working relationships with all parties. In particular, you will:
  • Help coordinate Business Development activities;
  • Help identify opportunities and manage the internal decision making process;
  • Help coordinate both senior and junior staff members in the preparation of expressions of interest, proposals and tenders;
  • Help mentor junior project staff in the preparation of proposals;
  • Where necessary, contribute towards the actual drafting of sections of proposals;
  • Edit proposals, reports and public communications;
  • Assist in maintaining and expanding our contacts with partners and experts;
  • Assist in maintaining external communications.

Requirements:

  • A degree in (international) business administration, international studies or similar;
  • A minimum of 5 years of previous experience in business development, ideally tendering for EU studies;
  • Familiarity with the EU institutions and policies an advantage;
  • Experience in conceiving, structuring and writing proposals;
  • Very strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and adapt quickly to changes under pressure;
  • Good computer skills, particularly word, excel and power-point, knowledge of maintaining and managing databases a plus;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Meticulous attention to detail; and
  • Above all, stress resistant with a positive “can do” attitude, excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills, and willingness to take personal responsibility.
