Summary of Position
The Communications Intern assists with IREX’s visual branding worldwide and graphic content for the public website, social media, and publications. The Intern will report to the Senior Communications Manager and support the communication team with tasks such as website content, graphic design of visual content (ads, graphs, banners, infographics, print material, sample web pages), and other daily administrative support relating to overhead communications. This is a part-time (20 to 30 hours per week) paid internship for five - six months with a possible extension.
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Providing administrative, graphics, and production support for website and marketing materials
· Providing both technical and editorial website support, updating content, publishing news stories and blogs
· Collecting and editing news and success stories with staff at headquarters and in the field for use in a variety of purposes and for a variety of audiences
· Other tasks as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
· The Intern must be well organized, skilled at handling multiple tasks, and able to adhere to deadlines
· Experience working on websites, webforms, video, graphic design, photo editing, Google Analytics
· Desired technical knowledge: HTML, Java script, CSS, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, FinalCut Pro
· Knowledge of Drupal, communications, marketing, PR, and social media helpful
· Excellent writing and editing skills
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
· Interests in international development field
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
