Operations Run and Transformation Manager
The Organisation
BG Advance is one of the major business divisions of BG Group providing the functional and technical excellence that supports all of our activities. BG Advance encompasses the following key areas: Exploration, Petroleum Engineering and Developments, Engineering Projects, Operations and Well Engineering, Commercial and Assurance, Strategy and Portfolio Development, IT & Technology and HSSE. Coupled with the co-ordination and development of BG Group strategy and the longer-term planning and development of technical and commercial capabilities, BG Advance’s focus is on developing best practice and improved standards and capabilities.
Position Summary
This is a senior position who will be expected to define the Global IT Operations/Services strategic plan and lead this transformation.
BG IT is a centralized model and the job-holder would be expected to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective strategy across BG's global locations (20+ countries).
The job holder must be able to plan and operate strategically and interact with confidence in order to drive change.
The job holder will need to have extensive experience of budget ownership, demonstrated the ability to manage running costs and delivered cost savings.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and facilitate a three year Global IT Operations strategic plan
- Define the next phase of the transformation programme to deliver the strategic plan
- Programme manage the component projects including the development and approval of business cases
- Identify and manage the dependencies, risks and issues
- Manage stakeholders of all levels across the business and within Global IT
- Prioritise initiatives
- Responsible to the Programme Board for the successful delivery of the transformation programme and realising the business benefits.
- Resource management and budgetary control for the transformation programme
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
- Successfully led transformation with an AMS and project delivery background
- Experience of successfully defining and implementing services strategy
- Successfully delivered in a Service Ownership role
- Successful service delivery using different delivery models including offshore delivery
- Successfully led business engagement focused projects or programmes
- Strategy and business development
- Programme management within complex organisations undergoing business transformation
- Experience of both IT and organisational change
- Planning, analysis and risk management
- Change management
- Senior stakeholder management
- Team player willing to roll sleeves up to get things done
- Practical, flexible and commercial approach
- Capable of progressing to executive level in due course
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject
- Qualified to ITIL V3 Foundation level
- Understanding of key business processes in Oil and Gas industry
- Works in compliance with BG Business Principles, Policies and Standards, demonstrates BG behaviours
