Position Summary

The analyst will build and/or maintain tools used to optimize our purchases and sales commitments as well as plan for the long term.

Key Accountabilities

The Oil Optimization Analyst performs short and long term analysis to support the execution of BG’s equity crude oil marketing strategy, which including developing and maintaining models 
• Develop and maintain refinery economic models for evaluation of BG’s equity crude oils
• Develop and maintain models for annual business plan and short term optimizations
• Provide analysis for term deals
• Improve function and robustness of key marketing models
• Manage BG crude oil assays, including input into Haverly HCOMET
• Maintain BG’s assay website 
• Develop and maintain daily price reports 
• Interface with Fundamental Analysis team
• Assist accounting with reporting
• Assist the traders with presentations, papers, etc.
• Assist with Endur maintenance and deal entry

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

Experience Needed:
• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration or related field 
• Experience in mathematical modeling in Gurobi or similar tools
• Refinery economic experience 
• Experience with Endur a plus

• Strong analytic and programming skills including Excel and Gurobi
• Ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic working environment

Special Features:
• Will work on a trade floor environment, fast paced, dynamic and often noisy
• Global organization requires across time zone operation, and therefore occasional working outside normal hours
