This is an excellent opportunity for you to take a lead role as a senior member of our Investigations team.
Working with senior managers, executives and Board members within the Commission, as well as Chief Executives and leaders of New Zealand businesses, you will provide thought leadership and technical expertise. You will ensure the success of projects relating to mergers and authorisations and competition investigations.
With an in-depth knowledge of competition economics and law issues, or the capability to quickly acquire this knowledge, you will enjoy the challenge of applying economic theory to real-life business issues.
You will thrive on undertaking complex analysis and have the ability to communicate this information effectively. You will also share your knowledge and enthusiasm through coaching and mentoring a project team of intelligent and motivated individuals.
Ideally you will have a post graduate qualification in economics or law and have experience:
  • Undertaking competition analysis or mergers and acquisitions analysis;
  • Applying micro economic theory;
  • Managing projects and achieving project goals;
  • Working in a multidisciplinary environment; and
  • Writing and communicating complex issues.
