Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Project Accountant in the Budget, Reporting and Analysis Unit (BRU). Please note this is strictly a temporary position (3 months).

The position will be based at CIMMYT’s Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico).

Specific responsibilities of this position will include:

  • To perform as part of the year-end close process a detailed analysis of the financial status of projects with the objective to clarify the status of finished projects with remaining balances in our financial system.
  • Analysis and clean up Donors account receivables (AR); Determine the correct Donor overdue; suggest possible adjustments.
  • Thorough analysis and clean-up of workshops and partnership accounts.
  • Liaise with finance and program staff to clarify financial issues, answer queries and give update on the financial status of the project mainly the finished projects.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably in an international organization.
  • Advanced excel skills and demonstrated experience with accounting systems.
  • Good bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
  • High level of attention to details.
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team.
