RESEARCH MANAGER

following positions:
RESEARCH MANAGER
Creative, adaptable and resourceful, the successful candidate in this position will ensure continual technological growth in ERWAT through high-level research initiatives to improve and maintain a competitive advantage in the field of wastewater treatment. The Research Manager will also contribute to business development and marketing strategies within Erwat. Functions include the implementation of a Research and Development policy, strategy formulation, identification of priority research projects within Erwat and effective involvement of universities and research institutions in such, investigation of possible solutions, participants and research funding if required, as well as management of the R&D forum and operation, including the management of papers for conferences and publications.
Vital to the role is a Master's degree or equivalent, coupled with 10 years' experience in the water field and strong management and leadership skills. Knowledge of BNR processes and configurations, chemical and biological processes and a thorough understanding of water chemistry and its relationship with process technology are also important. The nature of the post requires basic knowledge of life cycle costing, operation and maintenance costs, as well as the MFMA and Environmental acts and requirements, and patents, JP contracts and NDA. Problem-solving, analysis, presentation and report-writing skills are essential. Candidates not afraid to ask questions and learn at all levels with a basic understanding of requirements for Laboratory testing and interpretation of results are sought.
Remuneration: Market-related commensurate with relevant skills and experience.

Appointment will be done in line with the EE objectives of ERWAT.
