WWF-Greater Mekong: Finance Director

The Greater Mekong region is one of the biologically richest places on the planet; its varied natural resources support the livelihoods and well-being of millions of people in mainland Southeast Asia. WWF-Greater Mekong (GM) – on the ground in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam – is working to conserve the region’s biodiversity and build a secure and sustainable future for people and wildlife.

WWF is seeking an experienced Finance Director who will ensure the development and implementation of finance, accounting and administration (F&A) systems, policies and procedures for WWF-GM. He/She ensures adherence to WWF Network Standards for F&A best practices, and compliance with all local laws and other statutory requirements in the countries of operation. As a member of the Regional Management Team (RMT), he/she shares responsibility for the overall performance of the Regional Programme Office. He/She will build and implement an F&A strategy for the WWF-Greater Mekong in line with that of WWF International.

Base location:

Hanoi, Vietnam

Key requirements:

  • Master's degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, or in relevant fields (ACCA qualification or equivalent is preferred).
  • 7 years of practical experience in Finance and Accounting management at regional level, 3 years of which should be in Greater Mekong country or in Southeast Asia
  • Experience in developing, managing and monitoring finance, accounting, and administration systems, policies and procedures, preferably in the context of an international organisation
  • Thorough understanding of international finance and accounting systems and of local systems of a country in the Greater Mekong region
  • Good knowledge of fund accounting including reporting requirements of major Bi-lateral Aid Agencies
  • Experience of working in multi-cultural environment
