Regional WASH Capacity Building Coordinator Asia To be based in any country within the region

The role In this role you’ll provide technical leadership for capacity building of our WASH teams across the whole Asia region, as well as providing support on WASH programme development. That means working closely with the Regional WASH Coordinator – Asia, in development of the regional WASH capacity plan. Specifically you’ll be designing and conducting preparedness and emergency capacity gap assessments with relevant staff at regional and country level, affiliates and partners. The aim is to ensure adequate preparedness and response capacity in close coordination with all countries, all members of the regional humanitarian team, and the regional logistic and HR team. Plus ensure that gender, protection and HIV/AIDS is mainstreamed into capacity building activities We’ll expect you to identify potential regional partners and support country programmes in identifying emergency WASH partnerships

The requirements You’ll need to bring extensive experience in designing and leading on capacity building programming at strategic/leadership and operational levels. It is important that you have significant field experience and a solid working knowledge of WASH programmes, some of which will have been gained in emergency response management. Proven relationship management skills, together with cultural sensitivity, gained from working in the region, are important requirements. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
