Ceficthe European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and voice of the European chemical industry. It aims to maintain and develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society. 

Cefic is located in Auderghem and employs more than 160 people. ECPI is a Cefic sector group representing the European producers of Plasticisers and Intermediates. 

For this department, Cefic is looking for a (M/F) ECPI Communications Counsellor.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering, analysing and interpreting information for the ECPI members on the development of their regulatory framework, in coordination with the external consultants;
  • Gathering, interpreting and analysing relevant press coverage and preparing responses according to ECPI’s established scenarios;
  • Participating in the information of all stakeholders about the opinion, positions and proposals of the industry, adapting messages to the audiences;
  • Managing the association’s extranet and websites;
  • Organising and participating in industry events and conferences;
  • Working with internal and external consultants as required.

Skills & competencies

  • University degree (political science, communications or similar);
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years relevant experience developed within one of the EU institutions or in an organisation working in relation with EU authorities;
  • Good knowledge of the European institutions and decision making process;
  • Good understanding of the chemical industry;
  • Excellent level in English (both spoken and written), other European languages are an asset;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make concise summaries;
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • Flexibility to work within tight deadlines where required;
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office package).
