Job Description
The firmware discipline at Selex ES Ltd in Edinburgh is looking for an experienced Principal FPGA Engineer to strengthen the currently highly skilled function.
The successful candidate will have a track record in the design of complex FPGAs. Proven team leadership skills, or the potential & willingness to undertake a design team lead role, is a pre-requisite
Key Responsibility Areas
Design of Complex FPGA devices utilising the latest FPGA technologies from XILINX, Altera and Microsemi (ACTEL). Incorporation of high speed interfaces and embedded cores.Application of Advanced Design & Test methodologies
Design Team Leadership / Leadership Potential
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
Candidates must have experience in the following areas:
In depth detailed FPGA design skills covering leading edge technologies.High Speed Interfacing design, including Signal Integrity awareness.
Data Processing bandwidth analysis.
CPU/FPGA partitioning experience
ECAD tool expertise
Awareness of System Level Modelling Techniques and Model Driven Device Targeting
Work Package Management & Team Leadership Experience
It is desirable that candidates have experience of:
Mentor Graphics ECAD Toolkit
Matlab and Simulink
Personal Attributes
Good at working in multi-disciplinary engineering team
Self motivated
Willing to take responsibility; good supervisory skills
Intrinsic Job Factors
This is an office based role using display screen equipment working full time hours which can often be in a demanding environment.
