Chief Examiner for Social and Cultural Anthropology

The IB social and cultural anthropology course offers an opportunity for students to become acquainted with anthropological perspectives and ways of thinking, and to develop critical, reflexive knowledge. Social and cultural anthropology contributes a distinctive approach to intercultural awareness and understanding, which embodies the essence of an IB education.
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is currently seeking to make the appointment of: Chief Examiner for Social and Cultural Anthropology
Applicants must have:
  • recent experience in teaching /lecturing Anthropology in higher education
  • academic qualifications in the subject at an appropriate level
  • availability to fulfil commitments, attend meetings, meet deadlines and respond to queries
  • enthusiasm for e-marking
  • commitment to international education
  • management experience/leadership skills
  • reliable broadband internet connection
  • knowledge of Spanish and/or French would be an advantage.

Senior Examiners supervise a subject's examining teams, maintaining the integrity of IB assessment.
Appointments will last a maximum of five years. Much of the work can be carried out from home; occasional meetings in one of the IB's European offices may be required.
The closing date for applications is Friday 10th January 2014.
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May 2014.
Appointments will take effect from September 2014.
