Head of Climate Programme

WWF, one of the world’s largest independent conservation organizations is looking for a highly motivated individual to lead its Climate Team to effectively deliver climate conservation solutions. 

Reporting to the Director of Conservation, you will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Climate Programme, develop and implement appropriate projects and activities and manage staff performance for the achievement of the objectives and milestones of the five year Strategic Plan. You are expected to provide an expert-level analysis of climate change and energy issues and in particular their relevance to the commercial and political situation in Hong Kong and Southern China, and to provide advice to the organization on the impacts of climate change. You will also work with Marketing and Fundraising to raise sufficient funds to support the climate projects. 

To qualify, you should preferably possess a good MSC./PhD with at least 10 years of working experience including significant experience at a managerial role. You must have a broad range of in-depth knowledge on climate and energy issues. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to develop visions and lead teams to deliver large scale projects on time and within budget. A strategic thinker and self-starter, you should be a results orientated individual with strong people management, negotiating and influencing skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese including Mandarin would be a distinct advantage.
