Senior Manager/Senior Economist, Electricity Transmission Team (x 2 Posts)

Effective regulation policies to govern electricity transmission are a key strand of Ofgem’s work to help deliver a low carbon energy sector and to provide safe and reliable transmission while achieving value for money. This role will make an important contribution to this work, focusing on electricity transmission charging and assessing large transmission investment projects. You will help shape related policies and make recommendations on how this area of work can be regulated effectively. As well as making written contributions to policy documents and other published materials, you should be confident presenting your analysis and recommendations to different audiences, often at a senior level and representing Ofgem in a range of settings.
Essential qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
Essential skills:
- Good numeracy
- Excellent analytical skills – both quantitative and qualitative
- Proven ability to develop and analyse complex concepts and communicate them effectively with excellent drafting and oral communication skills
- Demonstrable ability in the delivery of key projects to challenging timescales
- Capability in team management and development
- Effective influencing skills and ability to think strategically
- Expertise in standard Microsoft Office packages
Desirable:
- Experience in energy or regulatory economics
