Job Description and Responsibilities
Job Title: Senior SharePoint Developer Location: Based in Dublin/Flexible, Ireland with occasional travel Reporting to: Systems Development Manager Start Date: Immediately Employment Type: 12 Months
GOAL Background GOAL is an international humanitarian agency, non-denominational, non-governmental and non-political organization with the head office based in Dublin, Ireland and field programs across 13 countries in the developing world.
Job Purpose:
As a senior SharePoint Developer you will be responsible for the day to day development and support of the SharePoint environment and installed products. You will work with the IT Team to deliver and support qualitative SharePoint solutions. In this role, the senior SharePoint developer works on building and maintaining SharePoint applications and seamless interface between applications where applicable. The SharePoint developer provides 2nd/ 3rd Tier support as required and assists with integration of new IT solutions.
Responsibilities: • Maintenance of the SharePoint application portfolio through upgrades and patches • Assist with implementation of new SharePoint applications • Provide 2nd / 3rd Tier support for SharePoint
• Participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring of SharePoint environment • Document new IT SharePoint solutions • Test and update SharePoint solutions on new SharePoint releases • Provide training on all SharePoint solutions • Design and development of Business Intelligence dashboards • Work with GOAL external support partner
Desired Skills and Experience: Candidates must have excellent analytical skills, good knowledge of project life cycles and the ability to work in a team environment. GOAL is seeking a SharePoint Solution Developer with 3+ years of experience as a SharePoint Developer in the analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of web-based applications. In addition, the candidate will have 5+ years’ experience with SharePoint Technologies (All versions up to 2013, InfoPath, Forms Services, Excel Services, Access Services, Search, Business Data Catalog and Web Services) in a variety of business environments. Must be able to assist in design and development reviews. Should be comfortable with direct communication with all levels of technical and business resources.
Other skills required for this position include: • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related Technical degree • 3 to 5 years experience in delivering SharePoint based solutions for the business using SharePoint standard functionalities and customization with both SharePoint Designer and Visual Studio • Expert skills and knowledge of the Microsoft SharePoint platform (2010 & 2013) • Experience with SQL Server Enterprise Edition (developing stored procedures, triggers, complex views) • Being able to analyze business/functional requirements and translate them into concrete tasks • Experience with Objected Oriented Programming & ASP.Net • Experience with WCF / WS • Team player and able to coach/train more junior profiles • Proactive, client oriented, result oriented, 'can do' mentality • Working with distributed teams
Assets: • Experience with or an understanding of SharePoint 2013
• Experience in working with TFS 2010 / 2012 • Experience in working in an Agile environment • Knowledge of development lifecycles (ALM / SDLC) • Experience with test automation • Experience with workflows / migration / design • Microsoft Trainer experience a distinct advantage
Current Systems
Currently GOAL has 2 bespoke Office 365 (SharePoint Online v2013) applications and an Intranet site. GOAL is looking to develop the existing software solution as well as develop a number of new solutions. GOAL also has SQL 2012 & SharePoint 2013 Enterprise in each country. The position will remain open until filled.
