Account Executives - Public Affairs (Manufacturing & Industrials)

FleishmanHillard is seeking two entry-level consultants to join the growing Manufacturing & Industrials team of its established international Public Affairs office in Brussels.
FleishmanHillard is one of the world's leading public affairs and communications companies, with over 80 offices worldwide. The Brussels office consists of about 70 full-time consultants, who collaborate across the office on their specific areas of expertise – e.g. chemicals, healthcare, consumer, financial services, and environment policy.
The FleishmanHillard Brussels Manufacturing & Industrials team advises over 25 clients spanning the chemicals, environment, transport and security sectors and includes 17 full-time consultants. Although the various positions in the team impose a certain hierarchy, FleishmanHillard prefers to operate a relatively flat structure and above all is a meritocracy. Our philosophy hinges very much on supportive team working and it is important that new additions to the team are a good “fit” in this respect.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Background in political science, and a thorough knowledge of EU policymaking processes
  • Experience and/or understanding of the transport, chemicals and/or environment sectors and the issues that affect them
  • Commitment to the highest standards of service delivery
  • Excellent communication skills and networking ability
  • Initiative and creativity when it comes to problem-solving
  • Prior experience in a professional services firm an advantage, as is experience of working in the European political institutions
  • Native/near as English speaker (German, French, Italian, Spanish or Dutch an advantage) with excellent writing skills
The main responsibilities of both positions include:
  • Assisting with preparing draft reports and issue analysis
  • Gathering political intelligence in support of public affairs programmes
  • Developing draft strategic advice and implementation of client strategies
  • Daily monitoring of relevant information sources and reporting on key developments
  • Proactively building networks around key issues
  • Assisting with production of new business proposals
