Position Summary - Evaluates current geophysical workflows and recommends best practices for future work programs - Coordinates geophysical work assignments and makes recommendations on technical applications developed by other professional personnel or consultants. - Makes independent decisions within broad guidelines and policies.

Key Accountabilities -Interprets and evaluates 2D and 3D seismic, gravity, and magnetic data utilizing best practice guidelines. - Good geophysical understanding of seismic processing, velocity manipulation, depth conversion. Remit to improve workflows and adopt innovative best practice (e.g. 3D elastic inversion, rock physics analysis, reprocessing of 3D data) - Supports development drilling programs requiring geophysical interpretation. - Recommends best potential locations by using geophysical interpretation integrated with multi-disciplinary technical function. - Reports test outcomes by preparing presentations, reports, site maps, etc. in response to management requests and/or supporting drilling and acquisition opportunities. - Has the ability to engage, influence and energise stakeholders on the business benefits of technology applications within own area of expertise. - Instructs external contactors, as assigned by Team Leader. - Experience of building effective networks with contractors, academia and external R&D bodies. - Ensures adherence to organizational requirements, industry standards, and government regulations. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute - Good geophysical understanding of seismic processing, velocity manipulation, depth conversion. - Knowledge of the software toolkits, SMT kindgdom, RokDoc, Petrel would be advantageous. - Experience of building effective networks with contractors, academia and external R&D bodies. - Operational experience, understanding of drilling operations, and a basic understanding of completion practices in unconventional reservoirs. - Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment. - Candidate must have a Msc or equivalent post graduate qualitfication in geophysics or sufficient relevant industry experience needed. - Candidate must be comfortable leading and making decisions within a technical business unit. - Candidate must be proficient at well log correlation, minor petrophysics, and an understanding of geologic concepts. - Excellent presentation skills and clear and convincing report writing ability. - Must be comfortable mentoring graduates and junior geoscientists. - Candidate must be willing to attend conferences related to unconventionals and interact with academia and other industry workers. - Culture awareness within the business world, potential partners could be from anywhere around the globe.
