Director of Aftercare - Kolkata, India

The Need

IJM Kolkata is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to lead our Aftercare team in securing rehabilitation for victims of commercial sexual exploitation.  As Director of Aftercare, you will develop, coordinate and implement IJM’s aftercare strategy so that all individuals rescued from oppression can receive appropriate, sustainable, victim-specific rehabilitation.  This position is based in Kolkata, West Bengal and requires significant travel throughout India.  This position reports to the Field Office Director.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive aftercare strategy and oversee IJM’s relationship with local long-term aftercare partners.  Evaluate aftercare outcomes;
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with government leaders and NGOs;
• Travel to meet with rescued victims and work with area leaders;
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff involved in aftercare; and
• Participate in prosecutions and serve as a complainant or witness when needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• Relevant 8-10 years work experience preferred;
• Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Management or related field;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software, Windows 2000 and Windows XP;
• Knowledge and experience with micro-finance services; various government social service programs; and NGOs working in West Bengal;
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Bengali.  Ability to speak and write Hindi preferred; and
• Organized with meticulous attention to detail.
