​COWI's international business line Mapping is looking for an experienced and quality focused leader with in-depth knowledge of the geospatial business and dedication for success.

​The job

As Head of Flight Operations, Mapping, you are a responsible and efficiency oriented leader for the team of COWI's flight operations.
Your primary responsibilities will be to handle the business on an overall level and to ensure clear goals, both within your team and within the COWI Group.

Your role is also to advise the International Business Line (IBL) Director on specific requirements for your area to form, develop and maintain a market - and service orientated team.

You have a strong dedication to optimize the deployment of all resources of the group for the benefit of COWI's Mapping strategy.

On top of all, you are in charge of ensuring that COWI's quality and business goals are reached and continuously developed.

Your specific tasks and responsibilities include:
  • optimize the deployment of the resources of the group proactively in cooperation with all stakeholders in the IBL
  • ensure operational efficiency and flexibility of the Flight Group
  • budget responsibility
  • contribute to the market strategy of the IBL
  • develop high quality products and services with focus on new technology
  • define strategies and relations with both internal and external partners
  • monitor and report financial performance, staff utilization, and quality 
Your workplace as Head of Flight Operations will be at Roskilde Airport, Roskilde, Denmark.

Professional qualifications

  • Engineering or other relevant higher education
  • Financial/administrative experience and good business understanding
  • Relevant international work experience, preferably from the consultancy industry
  • Proven business and relation understanding
  • Certified staff management and leadership experience
  • Written and spoken English equal to professional proficiency level
  • Experience with managing technically advanced equipment

COWI´s International Business Line (IBL) Mapping is an international geospatial service provider and part of the COWI Group. We combine all aspects of digital geoinformation based on data from satellites, aircrafts, terrestrial carriers, and drones in close cooperation with other related COWI businesses.

COWI Mapping keeps the technological edge on terrestrial and aerial survey equipment while at the same time working closely with the largest manufacturers. The company has a significant market share in Europe but also works across continents. Interpretation and processing of data happens globally. COWI Mapping employs approximately 350 people.

About COWI Mapping's department for flight operations

Centered at Roskilde Airport, Zealand, COWI's Flight Operations department primarily operates in Northern Europe but also in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere.

The department owns an air fleet of four high and medium performance aircrafts and operates additional units through partner networks. In 2013, we operated 13 different planes and helicopters. Data-capture we carry out with own digital cameras, laser scanners and thermal equipment.

COWI's Flight Operations team consists of 10-25 employees depending on season and jobs.
