Manager, Donor Communications

Manager, Donor Communications
Reporting to the Senior Director of Prospect Development, the Manager will lead USF’s customized communications to major donors and corporate partners, and also manage the major donor giving society for supporters giving $10,000+. The Manager will collaborate and work laterally with other team members across the organization to help realize USF’s ambitious revenue goals of raising $65+ million in this division.
This position can be based in any of the USF regional office locations (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Washington, DC).
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
• Lead messaging strategy, calendar, and tone for major donors and prospects, and coordinate mass and personalized communication pieces through printed materials, email, digital, and video assets
• Build and execute a communications strategy for corporate partners and prospects, including an e-newsletter, pitch decks, corporate pages on the USF website, and the USF corporate story with training for the team and updated materials
• Oversee and write humanitarian emergency communications for major donors and a corporate audience
• Write letters coming from the President or other organizational leaders, e-newsletters, and other communications pieces that promote the USF’s mission and encourage giving
• Coordinate production of communications pieces with internal partners and external vendors
• Create major donor engagement opportunities through the major donor giving society with a particular emphasis on stewarding top donors giving $100,000+
• Track, analyze, and report on the major donor giving society membership, major donor communications, and corporate communications responses and effectiveness utilizing our donor database
• Perform other duties assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience
• Proven success record in donor communications
• Strong managerial, analytical and planning skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices, including all aspects of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• Ability to meet deadlines and fulfill urgent requests when needed, especially during a humanitarian emergency
• Must possess a strong work ethic, have confidence, take initiative and be an enthusiastic team player
