The role

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Civil Engineer to work closely with our other specialists to lead the drawing and design work in our Auckland Office, based in Newmarket. With a minimum of 8 years commercial experience in details, you will play a key role in the technical leadership, project input and management of civil engineering design services within SMEC's Transport sector business in New Zealand, with the primary focus on technical quality and delivery.

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

• An appropriate Civil Engineering degree / higher degree from accredited university / college
• A minimum 8 years of practical experience in the transportation infrastructure industry
• Experience in the New Zealand market and knowledge of the appropriate industry standards
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
• Appropriate Health and Safety conduct in accordance with all legislative requirements and SMEC's Business Management System (BMS) procedures and sound knowledge of working within Quality Assurance (QA) protocols.
