Project Manager, HP Project and
Portfolio Management System
Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology (SMRT) is a business division of the Sandvik Group and a leading supplier of equipment and tools, services, support and technical solutions for the mining industry and specialist sectors such as quarrying, tunneling, demolition, dimensional stone, recycling and the civil engineering industry. Product Area Rock Drills and Technologies is responsible for the development of technologies and products which serve all Product Areas (PA), including rock drills, automation, data driven productivity, common research and technologies and engineering services. We are now looking for an energetic Project Manager, HP Project and Portfolio Management System to our Engineering Services New Product Development Process Office. Main stakeholders include other Rock Drills and Technology management teams and PA R&D teams. This role is a permanent position based in Tampere, Finland.
Job Profile
You main responsibilities include the ownership of the HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) system, development of Portfolio management process in Rock Drills Technologies and SMRT and the support of SMRT PAs R&D and Project Offices. The key performance areas are as follows:
  • New Product Development Process development & implementation.
  • Development and implementation of the HP PPM System across SMRT.
  • Portfolio Management implementation & development.
  • Support to PAs for R&D resource planning & reporting.
  • Competence development & training of HP PPM users.
  • Management of 3rd party providers, to be effective & value for money.
  • Development and support of the financial planning and budgeting processes.
Your Profile
You have a suitable technical degree and ideally over five years’ experience of New Product Development, Project Management, R&D, Finance, Supply or Sourcing. You have a good understanding of the HP PPM system and engineering and supply processes. You can easily understand the overall business needs and requirements.
You are able to drive change and handle large content/date/inputs. You way of working is characterized by co-operation, fair play and team spirit. You should have good leadership, communication and negotiation skills. The job includes travelling which varies according the time. You should be fluent in English and comfortable with networking both internally and externally.
