Senior Programme Officer, ATVET and ATVET for Women


The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Senior Programme Officer, ATVET and ATVET for Women.
Under the supervision of the Head, Skills and Employment for Youth Programme the Senior Programme Officer, ATVET and ATVET for Women will work in an advisory capacity to support NEPAD Agency in its program delivery of CAADP Implementation and Skills and Employment for Youth Program. He/She will support the ATVET and ATVET for Women Team Leader at NEPAD Agency for the establishment of Agriculture Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) Unit within the Skills and Employment for Youth Programme.
Required Skills and Competencies
  1. Solid knowledge of African agriculture and the CAADP Process.
  2. Solid knowledge of TVET systems in Africa; experience from other systems like the dual-systems of Germany will be an advantage.
  3. Good Knowledge and experience in Agriculture Value Chains, Agribusiness and Private Sector in Agriculture.
  4. Knowledge, expertise and practical experience in knowledge management.
  5. Experience in working with networks and other regional and sub-regional organizations.
  6. Experience in working in / with international development cooperation work.
  7. Knowledge of pan-African institutions.
  8. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  9. Excellent intercultural communication skills.
Education and Experience
Candidates must have Masters’ degree in agriculture, international development, or any related sciences with a minimum five (5) years of post-qualification experience or a Bachelors’ degree in the above mentioned areas with a minimum eight (8) years of post-qualification experience in public sector institutions or similar organizations nationally, regionally and / or internationally.

Remuneration
Indicative basic salary of US$39,603.00 per annum plus other entitlements e.g. Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($21,196.80 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary), medical aid and life and accident insurance in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
