Transnet Freight Rrail (TFR) is a division of Transnet responsible for freight movement across Ssouth Aafrica. We’re looking for talented individuals who are interested in becoming part of improving the movement of rail freight in SA.

Technician (Telecoms)
Witbank, Ogies, Rrustenburg, Pretoria, Eermelo, Eempangeni, Rrichards Bay, Kkoedoespoort, Vryheid, Piet Rretief, Nelspruit

The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance, installation and repairs to the component level of microwave radio transmission. Applications are invited from suitable applicants who are in possession of a National Diploma T3/S4 qualification in Electrical Engineering (Ligh Current), or who are registered as Professional Engineering Technicians with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Applicants must have knowledge of microwaves, trunking and wireless systems, including analogue and digital technologies.

Applicants must be in possession of a Code B driver’s licence.

For all the positions: Applicants must be medically and mentally fit and able to communicate fluently in English. Due to long and irregular hours of work, access to transport is essential, as the company does not provide employees with transport to and from their place of employment. Suitable candidates will undergo a competency-based selection process.
