The University of Surrey is an international university with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward-thinking, our heritage shows a recurring theme of doing things differently – and achieving notable results.
We are seeking applications from exceptional individuals to join the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences in delivering our ambitions to expand and develop our provision of innovative veterinary science-related education. In particular, we are looking to make an appointment in the area of Veterinary Pathology to contribute towards teaching and research. You will part of a team of pathologists working in a new State of the art Veterinary Pathology Centre.
The Faculty has strong established links with a wide range of world class veterinary institutes and already offers highly successful and internationally recognised undergraduate and post graduate degree programmes in Veterinary Biosciences and Veterinary Microbiology. We are now embarking on the expansion of this activity, and are developing a new MSc in Comparative Pathology and a commercial veterinary pathology service.
You will hold a professional qualification (normally a PhD) or have equivalent professional experience, be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) and be board certified in veterinary pathology (ACVP/ECVP or FRCPath). You will have a strong research background and experience of working in a diagnostic pathology environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to play a leading role in helping shape the University’s strategic approach to this key area.  Informal enquiries can be made to Professor Roberto La Ragione, Head of the Department of Pathology and Infectious Disease at r.laragione@surrey.ac.uk
