Education & Qualifications

• Educated to higher level education or equivalent

Experience - Essential

• At least 3 years experience in either

a) the organic food and farming sector
b) in an NGO on EU level in the area of food/agriculture/environment
c) in an EU institution dealing with issues of the area of food/agriculture/environment

• At least 3 years experience in management, organisation and/or coordination

Experience - Desirable

• Experience in a non-governmental organisation
• Experience on EU level on policy work
• Knowledge about EU institutions and EU processes

Skills

• Good organisational, administration and management skills
• Ability to think and act strategically and understanding of political processes
• Essential: Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Desirable: Good verbal and written communication skills in French and other EU languages
• Good listening and minute writing skills
• Command of common IT applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases

Conditions of employment

• Full time position
• based at the IFOAM EU office in Brussels
• Monday to Friday, 38 hours/week, flexible working hours possible
• 24 days holiday per annum.
• Salary according to the common level in Brussels based NGOs, subject to qualifications and experience
• Employment period: start 1 May preferable – latest 1 July, permanent contract.
