Key Performance Areas
As the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer, you will develop, implement, and coordinate the risk, safety, and environmental programs for the site, following company guidelines and in conjunction with all relevant parties within the company, as well as, risk insurers and other external support functions. You will be responsible for ensuring federal, state, and local rules, regulations and standards are followed in order to achieve the required results, and you will ensure that all risk, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are in compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
Additional duties include:
- Define risk, safety, and environmental standards and requirements and establish programs to achieve compliance and process improvement
- Coordinate and manage risk, safety, and environmental policy and procedures, monitor same for effectiveness, and evaluate for compliance
- Develop and coordinate loss prevention program for compliance and improvement to achieve company goals
- Develop and coordinate specific plant safety program and procedures, and support the implementation and its continuous effectiveness in the whole organization
- Issue and maintain related documentation in the Business Management System
- Evaluate, develop, and manage efforts to address risk, safety, and environmental concerns/issues
- Ensure that Management and the Global EHS Organization receive timely and concise reports and documentation regarding all risk, safety, and environmental issues
- Provide risk, safety, and environmental training as required
- Directs and conducts routine and special risk, safety, and environmental audits, reviews, and assessments
Your Profile
Besides possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Area or related field, you have a minimum of 3-5 years of risk, safety, and environmental management experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards is required, as is knowledge of Federal and local (state) environmental regulations. You are highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
You are self-motivated with strong project management skills and a systematic, logical, and inventive approach to problem solving. Your communication and interpersonal skills are excellent, and you are able tocommunicate effectively with colleagues and outside partners at all levels. You take a hands-on approach to your work, and are highly detailed oriented and dedicated to hitting agreed upon deadlines.
