The CIS Sales Area of SMRT is looking for an experienced individual to fill the position of Chief Accountant Ukraine in Kiev. The position would directly report to Business Controller CIS, below please refer to the job description:
The Role
In this key role, the Chief Accountant Ukraine is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Ukraine area accounting departments in the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external financial statements, analysis, management reports as well as providing information for the annual audit and tax authorities in Ukraine area. These responsibilities include interpreting and implementing policies and procedures in accordance with company guidelines.
Key Performance Areas
  • Provides overall coordination of the monthly closing process and consolidated results
  • Provides for the audit of payroll, travel expenses, and accounts payable in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Oversees the general accounting activities of the accounting department and provides accurate and timely internal and external financial statements and management reports
  • Maintains requirements for all required reporting of Sandvik, Inc. and subsidiaries consolidated financial results, including analysis and presentation of results
  • Maintains and reviews required analyses and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger
  • Interprets and implements financial operating policies within company guidelines
  • Establishes and maintains a system of internal controls
  • Strives for best practices and cost efficiencies in accounting system
Your Profile
  • Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience in an international business environment, with a minimum of four-five years as a Chief Accountant in Ukraine
  • Extensive experience in IFRS reporting
  • Must possess excellent general management skills, including planning, organizing, and controlling
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders and provide a customer focused service.
  • Fluency in Ukraine, Russian and English is a strong plus
  • Good computer skills, including the Microsoft office suite and 1C accounting program
  • The position is based in Kiev and includes some travel, which on occasion may be international
