Candidates must be in possession of an N4/T2 Electrical qualifi cation or a Gold Fields Electrical Superintendent Certifi cate, at least 4 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity and a recognised trade certifi cate (Electrical). Candidates with the Gold Fields Electrical Foreman Certifi cate who attained the minimum of 60% in the relevant examinations will also be considered. Registration as an Installation Electrician under Regulation 11 of the OHS Act Electrical Installations Regulations is essential, along with experience in planned maintenance, budgeting and fi nancial control. A working knowledge of hospital-related equipment, airconditioning, electrical reticulation, steam and compressed air, the Applicable Machinery and Electrical Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as applicable SANS codes is further required. A valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence, preparedness to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis and computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office packages, complete the profi le sought. He/she must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.

Duties and responsibilities include: ● Providing and maintaining a safe environment with minimum risk to the health and safety of employees in the section ● Providing quality assurance of equipment supplied from suppliers ● Electrical and technical problem solving ● Managing the Technical Department, planned maintenance and in-house projects ● Financial control of the technical capital and operational budgets ● Co-ordinating the utilisation of technical resources ● Liaising with hospital management, local government, etc ● Taking accountability for proper discipline in the section.
