Communications/PR Director Esoko Ghana
A role for an experienced PR professional who writes exceptionally well (from copy to press releases to blogs), can manage media relations, and enjoys presenting to and meeting with a variety of audiences. You should be analytical, eager, and enthusiastic about new technologies and private sector development. You tweet, blog, video, photograph, and network.
This is a demanding role where you have to articulate and educate about the role of technology in transforming agriculture in Africa, where you should become part of the community of social entrepreneurs making a difference through enlightened business practices, and represent Esoko on a world stage at events, conferences, workshops where a diverse range of stakeholders are trying to understand models of innovation that can provide deep social transformation.
You should be a mature presenter comfortable with roughing it in the field in front of a crowd of farmers, as well as standing at international conferences at the UN in Rome or AU in South Africa.
Responsibilities
• Write press releases, copy for marketing materials, training materials, company documentation, advertisements, etc.
• Manage media relations, research editorial opportunities and build relationships with key industry media both inside and outside of Ghana
• Manage all of Esoko’s social media accounts, including blogs, Twitter, Picasa and Facebook
• Make presentations on Esoko to a variety of audiences, both inside and outside Ghana
• Continue to develop and implement Esoko’s Communication strategy, standards and practices
• Guide team members in all communication activities and public relations (marketing materials advertising, client communications, marketing campaigns, etc.)
• Greet high level guests and be able to present the team, product and vision
• Develop and manage the communications budget
Required Skills
• You write incredibly well for a variety of audiences
• You’re a strong presenter but also a genuine listener
• You can take in and distill a lot of information about a fast growing company
• You enjoy managing a group and leading people
• You’re articulate and analytical
• You’re enthusiastic about what new technologies and local businesses can bring to Africa.
Qualifications
• Please don’t apply unless you have at least 5 years experience in senior-level Public Relations and a 4-year University degree.
