DIRECTOR, OKAVANGO RESEARCH INSTITUTE (ORI)

Duties: To provide overall academic and administrative leadership to the ORI, guide its development, plan, coordinate and facilitate research, teaching and outreach, including external/internal liaison, fund raising, consultancies and logistic support.

Requirements: Education: Masters Degree in the Sciences or Natural Resource Management field and attainment of the rank of full Professor. Experience: Ten years experience with an excellent record of research and consultancy work. Competencies: Sound knowledge of university management systems and the environment within which they operate. Experience in coordinating research programmes at a university level institution, or management of a large research institute/centre. Strong interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and communication skills, sound knowledge of information and communication technology, along with personal integrity and a strong commitment to excellence in academic pursuits. An Associate Professor with extensive research outputs, and sound management skills for over ten years may be considered.
