Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan, 30km east of Pretoria. The mine is currently mining at a depth of 747 metres using mechanised trackless block-cave mining.

Driver Training Instructor: Underground

In this role, the incumbent will mainly be responsible for the training and assessment of Self-propelled Mobile Vehicle Operators.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver training and quality assurance
  • Design, develop and maintain training programmes and assessments
  • Conduct training and assessments of Self-propelled Mobile Machine Operators
  • Control and maintain the administration of training documents
  • Coach and guide trainees
  • Ensure compliance with MQA and ISO standards
  • Stay abreast of the requirements of Section 10 of the Mine Health and Safety Act
  • Work according to the mine’s Code of Practice and report any observations of this not being done
  • Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence to and compliance with Security and the Company’s SHE objectives.


Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Standard 10
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a driver in an ore extraction-related environment
  • PC literacy in Microsoft Office and the Windows system
  • A pass mark on the Vienna Assessment - Level 2+ (the test will be conducted on the Mine)
  • A valid Code EB (08) Public Driver’s Licence
  • Sound verbal and written interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Sound planning, leadership and organisational abilities
  • Independence, self-motivation and proactive thinking
  • The ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Facilitation, coaching and mentorship skills
  • The ability to interface with customers. An ETDP Level 4 Certificate in Facilitation or equivalent qualification will be advantageous, as will registration as an Assessor, previous training experience as a Trainer and knowledge of the MQA and SAQA.
