IT Testing Coordinator - European Chemicals Agency

It provides the Member States and the EU institutions with the best possible scientific and technical advice on issues relating to the chemicals under REACH Regulation. ECHA is responsible for managing, and in some cases carrying out, the technical, scientific and administrative aspects of REACH, and ensuring consistency at Community level in its application. 1. THE JOB

Reporting to the Head of Unit and working as part of the testing team, the IT Testing Coordinator will be responsible for the following tasks, in accordance with the defined testing processes of the Agency:

  • Coordinating site and user acceptance tests to ensure the completion of testing activities in an efficient and timely manner;
  • Creating test plans, such as project test plans, UAT plan and other detailed plans as necessary;
  • Providing regular test reports to project management and other key stakeholders of the Agency’s IT projects;
  • Working with contractors, reviewing test deliverables, planning and synchronising testing activities;
  • Utilising tools such as HP Quality Center, JIRA and Confluence, to perform testing activities;
  • Performing the following ‘hands-on’ testing tasks as necessary:
    • Developing test scenarios by analysing requirements, use cases, and specifications;
    • Creating and maintaining high-quality test cases for complex IT software applications;
    • Executing test cases and documenting test results;
    • Defect reporting and verification of fixed defects, in accordance with the defect management processes used in the Agency’s IT projects.
  • Executing other duties relevant to the job.

2. QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

a) Successful completion of post-secondary level education attested by a diploma in a field relevant to the areas of work listed in section 1. Post-secondary level education relevant to the areas of work listed in section 1 include as core subjects for example:

  • Computer science;
  • Informatics;
  • Management Information Systems;
  • Business processes engineering;

Or

b) Successful completion of secondary education giving access to post-secondary education and appropriate professional experience of at least three (3) years.

In addition, you must have a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience attained after the fulfilment of the requirements in a) or b) above, related to the tasks listed in the section 1.

Only qualifications issued by EU Member State authorities or EEA authorities and qualifications recognized as equivalent by the relevant EU or EEA Member State authorities will be accepted.

3. SELECTION

If you meet the formal requirements set out in section 2, you will be assessed on the basis of the following selection criteria. The candidates who are judged to be the most suitable on the basis of the selection criteria will be invited to an interview.

  • Your academic and professional qualifications and their relevance to the main areas of work listed in section 1;
  • Your professional experience: the range of fields covered; the type and level of work done and its relevance to the areas of work listed in section 1.

The following will be considered as assets:

  • Experience in developing stable and re-usable test automation scripts using tools such as HP Quick Test Professional;
  • Experience in testing software applications used by industry, from the business user perspective;
  • ISEB/ISTQB certification in software testing;
  • Professional experience gained in a European Institution/Agency or an international organisation and/or abroad.
