Fundraising and Major Donor Coordinator

We are looking for a Fundraising and Major Donor Coordinator to support the Major Donor Team and Development Department for the implementation of all fundraising and communication initiatives for WWF International’s major donor fundraising work, including the Campaign for a Living Planet (CFLP). The Campaign is a major fundraising campaign for the organization aimed at raising $100 million for conservation work. Location:

WWF office in Gland, Switzerland.

Main responsibilities
:
  • Provide all logistical support for the Campaign Steering Committee meetings and other Campaign related meetings, including scheduling meetings, coordinating and preparing relevant documents such as the agenda, minutes and presentations and liaising with the offices of the Steering Committee members as required.
  • Maintain Campaign meeting and event calendar.
  • Monitor all major donor gift and campaign income, including pledged gifts, pipeline gifts, financial tracking sheets and graphs and tables and monthly financial report checking with finance team to ensure complete accuracy of performance.
  • Assist the Event Manager with events organised by the Development Team such as conservation dinners, field trips and private donor dinners. Support logistics of events and field trips for donors, including on-site event management and representation where necessary.
  • Assist with major donor cultivation and stewardship including drafting, editing, formatting and proof-reading emails, letters, contracts, donation receipts, acknowledgements and recognition material. Liaise with various departments within the organisation and within the WWF Network to obtain information for the development of project concepts and funding proposals for major donor cultivation.
  • Use fundraising database for developing mailing lists and manage mailings like newsletters, appeals and individual correspondence for major donors. Manage the filing of general and confidential donor information (both offline and on WWF’s Intranet).
  • Basic development and maintenance of web and intranet pages on behalf of the development team for major donors and legacies.
  • Keep contact lists and donor information in the fundraising database (Raisers Edge) up-to-date.
  • Manage expenses for the major donor team, reconciling with WWF Finance (fundraising) reports and liaising with the Development Team, Finance and Project Finance to ensure complete and correct information.
  • Provide support for the preparation of meetings with prospects or donors, including scheduling meeting, coordinating and preparing relevant documents such as background materials, power point presentations etc. and liaising with WWF offices as required.
  • Act as back-up within the Development Department during the absence of other assistants.

What you need:

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
  • Undergraduate university degree, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a fundraising coordination or administrative role, preferably within an international environment.
  • Confidence in dealing with people at different levels – especially with high level contacts and a variety of cultures and backgrounds and experience working with high level people, ideally donors or prospects.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Very high attention to detail in all aspects of written, financial and presentation work.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent team player with good networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Excellent financial skills, including high level of numeracy, excel proficiency and confidence in dealing with figures and budgets.
  • Knowledge of fundraising database, Raiser’s Edge, desirable.
  • Fluency in both written and oral English. Good knowledge of French desired. An interest in the field of nature conservation desirable.
