Background:
The Australia Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income through Support for Markets in Agriculture (AIP-PRISMA) is an ambitious new rural development program which aims to contribute to a 30%, or more, increase in net incomes for 1,000,000 poor rural female and male farmers, 300,000 of which will be reached by June 2017.
The role: The Head of Operations and Finance will lead the finance, HR, operations, contract and IT teams on PRISMA to ensure that the program has the resources (staff, facilities and finances), systems and procedures needed to deliver expected program results. In doing so, the Head of Operations and Finance will be responsible for all day-to-day HR, financial and administrative management for PRISMA, working with the program management team and GRM Project Manager to ensure effective planning, coordination, control and overall program delivery. He/she will also be responsible for managing the financial and economic analyses in particular on the contracts with private sector partners and the value for money calculation of private sector and PRISMA investments.
Selection criteria: The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
  • At least 10 years' experience in a senior management position in international development. Experience in management of complex development programmes essential. Additional management experience in the private sector preferred.
  • Successful track-record in delivery of complex programmes/projects and development of institutional capacity.
  • Experience with working with DFAT/AusAID important.
  • Proven excellent leadership, management and organisational skills.
  • Strong representation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The successful candidate must be results orientated, an empowering manager and team player.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree required, master's degree or above preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesian (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Indonesian public sector and experience working with government agencies (preferred).
  • Experience working on Rural Development or Agricultural projects or initiatives (preferred).
