About The Job:
Flight Dispatch Officers and Operations Controllers work within the System Operations Control Centre (SOCC) and are responsible for SOCC flight dispatch and operations control. The role requires all flight dispatch officers and operations control to adhere to the highest operational standard and meet all company and regulatory requirements in the performance of their duties. They are required to hold a GACA aircraft dispatcher license under GACAR 121 and for the FDO function, share joint-responsibility with the Pilot in Command for the pre-flight planning of a flight. You will perform your duties in compliance with GACAR regulations for aircraft dispatch and operations control. You will prepare aircraft dispatch release documents and all pre-flight planning. You will exercise operational control over the flying program and maintain continuity and on time performance. You will perform ‘flight monitoring’ in accordance with company procedures and GACAR 121 regulations. You will actively participate and contribute to disruption recovery strategies within the SOCC when required and participate in corporate emergency response, supporting SOCC activities related to the event. You will initiate emergency procedures if, in the opinion of the FDO the safety of the flight is in doubt. This role is a H24 shift work. This position requires regular liaison and relationship management with Flight Deck, Flight operations sections, SOCC team members, operational and executive management.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum educational background of a Trade or Vocational certificate. You must have GACAR or US FAA aircraft dispatchers’ certificate or ICAO country issued flight operations officer license equivalent acceptable to GACA. You must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Flight Dispatch and a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience. The ability to work under stress and be adaptable.
