Construction Manager - Logistician

Do you have experience as a construction site foreperson or in building services coordination? Are you qualified in Civil Engineering, Building Design or Architecture? Do you want to challenge yourself professionally and become a vital member of the Médecins Sans Frontières field team? Join us as a Médecins Sans Frontières Construction Manager.
The Role:
At any one time, around 2,500 international personnel contribute to a global team of over 30,000 Médecins Sans Frontières field staff who provide emergency medical care in around 70 countries each year. Australian and New Zealander professionals fill more than 200 field positions annually and logisticians are crucial to every Médecins Sans Frontières project.
Your role could be:
  • Using your engineering and trade skills to assist in site planning and construction
  • Working with suppliers to negotiate and procure building materials
  • Managing project budgets, contracts and completing regular reporting
You may also be responsible for interacting with local authorities and other organisations, and overseeing the implementation of project security protocols. Being able to manage large numbers of national staff or subcontractors is another important element of this essential role.
