General Logistician

Do you have generalist skills across a number of technical areas? Do you have at least two of the following skills and experience: mechanics, energy and electricity, procurement and supply chain management (including cold chain), construction, water and sanitation, IT ‘trouble shooting’, radio and communications equipment, warehousing and stock management? Do you want to challenge yourself professionally and obtain a unique experience? Join us as a Médecins Sans Frontières General Logistician.
The Role:
At any one time, around 2,500 international personnel contribute to a global team of over 30,000 Médecins Sans Frontières field staff who provide emergency medical care in around 70 countries each year. Australian and New Zealander professionals fill more than 200 field positions annually.
Your role could be:
  • Coordinating the purchase and transport of supplies locally or internationally
  • Rehabilitating health structures and setting up feeding centres
  • Maintaining vehicles and communication systems, and overseeing the implementation of project security protocols
Your skills in cross cultural human resource management and communication will be important, as the role involves providing technical support and coaching to staff under your responsibility.
