CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR (MINING PRODUCTION)

CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR
(MINING PRODUCTION)
Rustenburg Chrome Mine

Reporting to the Mining Engineer, the Control Room Operator will be responsible for coordinating production and engineering work done on shifts underground. This will include liaison with the LHD Operators, Shift Overseers (Production and Belts) as well as the Mine Overseer, Mine Manager and Mechanics on Vehicle Maintenance.

Education and training required will include:
• Grade 12
• Excel and Word
• Lotus Notes, Microsoft Outlook
• Blasting or Trade Certificate will be an added advantage.

Skills and competencies:
• Ability to plan and coordinate effectively
• Underground working experience
• Strong organisational skills
• Good report-writing skills
• Good communication skills at all levels
• At least 4-5 years’ experience as a Control Room Operator.

The incumbent will be expected to work shifts.
