Job Purpose

Responsible for maintenance of financial books in accordance with internationally accepted accounting standards and ensure the compliance with Company’s policies and procedures. Manage and plan the various functions in Financial Account Unit which includes General Ledger, Revenue Accounting, Payables, Fixed Assets and Materials Accounting. Explain and support other business units in their understanding of the financial results and governance procedures.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
  • Manages the personnel involved in their respective functions and exercises authority in order to ensure efficient control over various processes involved.
  • Reviews and analyses monthly financial statements and annually audited statement for management use.
  • Manages monthly and annual accounts closing activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate internal controls are in place in the various systems in use.
  • Liaise with stakeholders both internal and external to the organization in order to aide in efficient functioning of various sections of Finance Dept.
  • Enhancement of system reporting tools.
  • Review the various business processes with regards to Finance Dept. and recommend enhanced and efficient way of doing various tasks.
  • Manage, plan, support various activities of other functions in finance such as Payables, Revenue Accounting, Outstations, Fixed Assets, and Treasury.
  • Provides financial information and statistics to Internal and external stakeholcers.
  • Controls the activities of the materials accounting including stocks issues, stocks receipts, stocks write off, stocks disposal, and stocks provisioning
  • Overviews the maintenance of fixed assets register including assets acquisition, disposal, write off and depreciation.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors in the examination of all Company's books and records.
  • Performs other duties and ad hoc assignments
Requirements
University degree in accounting and must be followed by membership in an internationally recognized professional accounting body like ACA, ACCA of UK or CPA of USA or equivalent. 8 years broadly related experience of which at least 3 years should be as Finance manager/controller level.
In addition to above; you are required to have the following:
  • Training in ERP & other systems which need to be integrated with Oracle Financials.
  • Technical knowledge in Financial Accounting & Analysis and detailed knowledge of all modules oracle financial.
  • Knowledge in Oracle Financials.
  • Expert skills in MS Office tools.
